Can I still have a good workout?

I asked a question earlier about Hoodia products and someone said to just excercise. Ok. I can do that. But what excercise is safe when you have a herniated disk that is very painful 24 hours a day?! Can someone help?!
Answer:
I would suggest maybe trying yoga or pilates. I'm sure it can be done safely more than being on a treadmill or an elliptical. It will strengthen your back and you will get in great shape. Maybe call your local gyms and ask questions. They will be able to help you figure out a good workout program that won't damage or put you in more pain.I hope this helps. Good luck.
