Can bones get smaller?


Answer:
Yes, just look at old people.
Only if you quite exercising. Why would you want smaller bones?
Yes they can.. which is why as you age weight bearing exercises are more important than ever...
over time your bones can break down and you can lose bone mass. Thats how people "shrink".
Yes. Especially if you are an astronaut. Your bone matter wears down after being in space, and you lose a lot of calcium. I guess for normal people it's an aging thing if you don't drink a lot of milk.
Bones lose density if nutrition is poor or if you have a bone disease like osteoporosis. Also, the entire spinal column shrinks and collapses a little after the age of 60. But bones don't get shorter.
