Can bench pressing stop my growth?

Im 14 years old at the moment, im about 160+cm tall, pretty short because i started weights when i was in year 7-8, but ive stopped for over a year now.Now i am forced to do bench pressing for Physical Education in school, I would just like to ask:Can bench pressing stun my growth? (I only have to do about 6 reps max)
Answer:
Yes.
I've noticed that a few classmates who got taken into muscle-building in their early teens %26 did a lot of these exercises ended up not more than 5'6"
I think you shud be doing a lot more stretching %26 playing games like soccer, squash %26 such.
You can always build your muscles after your physical growth is complete..24 years.
no i have been benching my whole life and i am 5'4 so no it doesnt
Yes. Ask any doctor. If you aren't fully developed, it can cause the muscles in your chest to compact and actually begin crushing your organs. Just ask the doc.
some poeple say it can.stay away from squats, they really can.
Being that your 14 you still have much more growing to do. even if your a large 14 year old. Lifting weights at a young age can have a hard toll on growth. It also depends on what kind of weight lifting. Being that you are saying that you are benching. It probably wont stunt your growth vertically but it may cause joint problems and other things in the future. My advice is if you are going to bench just try to do lighter weight. Dont try to lift extreme weight. If I was you I would do push ups and pull ups(overhang). They wont hurt you.
No it can't.
Yes it can. The reason it can is because as you go through puberty your testosterone levels increase and once they are at a certain level your bones will stop growing. Lifting heavy weights naturally increases ones testosterone levels, and your body then feels as though you are ending puberty and stops growing earlier then it would have.
Bench press shouldnt, but could hurt joints if not careful- form to much weight etc. Squats can most definetily tho,
