Can drinking a lot of water harm you?

i now started drinking a lot of water during the day, round 4-5 liters, besides 3 meals a day.
i don't push me drink more, i just drink the amount i feel ok with.
will this only do good to me? or is there a possibility that i may be drinking too much water?
how will this be helpful to me, too?thnx
Answer:
It is possible to drink too much water. I dont know liters/gallon ratio, so Im not sure how much you are getting but that sounds like a bit much. If your thirsty enough to drink this much water I would see your Dr. It could be a sign of diabetes or something else.check out these about drinking too much water:http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwate...http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/n...
Yes, you can get water intoxication which can be fatal.4 - 5 liters sounds like a lot, but I'm not sure how much is dangerous.
Yes, if you drink too much your organs and brain can swell up. Cut back a little, unless you are exercising great deal.
I've heard of someone who died of kidney failure from drinking so many gallons a day. Not sure how much though.
Yes-...3 liter is OK but 5 i am not sure-...
depends your size,.more size=more water.. i used to consume up to 6 gallons of water a day and workout intensilly,,,,its great all ur pores open up...u always feel fresh,,,u sweat alot but its all the nasty stuff your body has been keeping inside... you loose weight...you look helthier.your sex drive is increased by like 25% ...!
A naturopath told me that a good way to determine how much you should drink is take your weight and divide it by 2. That number is the amount of ounces you should be drinking. So a 180# person should be drinking right at 3 quarts of water a day.
