Can someone lead me to a guide describing what fruits, vegetables, and nuts are likely to be GMO?

If not, can you at least tell me the most common GMO crops? Thanks
Answer:
Just buy organic so you don't have to worry about it.

Can someone help?!?!?

Everyone thinks that I'm the "skinny friend" but I'm not!! I have a big stomach and love handles! How can I get rid of these so I CAN be the "skinny friend"?
Answer:
Diet and excercise is the best way to go. I know it corny, but its really the only way to go. Also, theres a book called "French Women Don't Get Fat" its about when you go to France from a big, greasy country like the USA, and see all the French women skinny and surrounded with all these high-calory, high-fat foods, what they do. I'll tell you the secret. They eat in small portions. Now, I'm not telling you to go out and have a cube of cheese whenever you are hungry. Just enjoy it more. Eat it slower, it makes it seem like a lot. As for the excercise idea, go once or twice a week if you are not desperate to be the "skinny friend" but if you are really into it, go three times a week. Dont overdue it! Good luck! (PS DONT whatever you do, DONT take those diet pills---they cause heart attack, death , stroke etc)
Well, there's the diet i have, which is pretty simple. But I'm not sure if it TOTALLY works hah. Everyday after school i go on the treadmill for 30 mins, switching between jogging and running. Before I go to bed, I do 10 crunches, then 10 sit-ups, until I get to a total of 50, but not 50 each! If you know what I mean. And I also try to eat as healthy as I can.
well. you can stick with the oldest trick in the book. eat less and work out more. Try sports or do wut i do..if someone dont like the way you look tell them to **** off... you was not put here to impress anyone but yourself
Do crunches and side bends to get rid of the stomach and love handles, but if you are eating bad foods then it won't help.
to get rid of the big stomach and love handles you have to get rid of overall bodyfat percentage, situps alone wont helpeat healthy and in smaller portions, drink lots of water, exercise, and no junk foodjust type in healthy eating on a search engine there are plenty of articles out there, i just listed what they basically talk about.a good site is www.bodybuilding.com its not just for bodybuilders you know

Can someone give me some weight loss tips? I can't afford the gym and I am a very picky eater?

Answer:
You can lose weight without a gym. Run, walk, dance. That's cardio. That will get your heart pumping, and burn calories. Then you can strength train, if you can get a set of weights. Maybe not even a set, but things around the house, even. Water bottles, books and such. Do some pushups, squats, lunges, crunches and situps. These will all help you to develop muscle and tone. Muscle weighs more than fat, but at the same time, it also helps you burn more calories quicker. It takes a lot of discipline, so don't go into this with a half-*** attitude. If you're serious about losing weight, you'll train yourself every other day, if not every day. Also, if you're a picky eater, that's good! Pick out the foods that are dense in sugars and empty carbs. (No junk food) Also, take out sodas. That's extra sugar. Even diet soda. Drink plenty of water. Don't starve yourself. Eat a good mixture of fruits and veggies, protein, like eggs, beans and meat, and whole grains. Good luck!
if you cant afford a gym, then run a lot. Burning more calories than you use in a day results in fat loss.
I know! Don't buy the foods that you like to eat. If it's not there, you can't eat it. Helped me to lose a few pounds.
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca... This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.Guide to Dieting - http://straighthealth.com/pages/guides/d...

i think you should go on a master clean diet u are a picky eater anyway and the master clean make u loose weight fast it is mostly know as the beyonce's diet and it really works i have a friend that did this diet for 2 weeks and lost 20 lbs .u can google master clean diet and all of the tips are there
p.s. and its even a leamonde diet if that suits u ..
I read this 15 minute workout this morning in Australian Men's Health Magazine including:Back lunge to curl press
Swiss ball single arm dumbell press
Swiss Ball "Y"
Negative chin up
Swiss ball leg curl. They have a different 15 minute workout featured every month so you don't have time to get bored. Once a day, then go for a brisk uphill walk for 45 minutes. The magazine costs about $20aus per quarter - about one week's gym fees. Prolly worth every cent, in my opinion, just for this little tip.
Eat lots of fresh fish and chicken and drink lots of water, and do some walking everyday or when weather permits. I did this and in 1 weeks time I went from 127 pounds down to 112.
Eliminate one thing from your diet and stick with it. Soda is a good thing to drop. Just replace it with water and not the flavored water (unless you flavor it yourself with fresh fruit.). Drink twice the amount of water you normally do. Regulate your sleep. (8 hours is good for an adult). Once a day walk around your block. You will notice that you feel a bit better and the inches will start to drop off.

Can someone answer this?

ok so im trying to lose weight..alot , does anyone no what i can do, im 16 and thinking about sratving myself, please give me a diet that i can lose weight fast..i mean really fast
Answer:
Emily, I don't know your height or weight currently, however, based on information I have from nutritionist stuff, the basic weight for a woman who is 5' tall, is 100 lbs. 5 lbs for every inch over that. Also, based on bone structure. Small, med. or large. I'll use me for an example: 5'6 %26 1/2 ' tall, large bone frame. 5'=100 lbs. 6 %26 1/2 "=x 5 lbs comes to = 32.5 lbs. Or, all together, 132.5 lbs. Large bone frame, I can weigh 135-even 140 lbs, no problem. The best, healthiest way, if you truly, based on the info I just gave you, need to truly lose weight, eat proteins (meat,) carbs, veggies, fruits, drink either 8 - 8 oz glasses of water, or 4 - 16 oz bottles of water per day. And, exercise--dancing, swiming, riding a bike, walking, things like that. That you will enjoy doing. And, please see about taking a good multi-mineral-muti-vitamin one per day-or one per every other day, if possible. Muscle weighs more than fat. Honest. Hope this helps. Also, please make an appt. to see your dr. about any "diet" or exercise program before you start. Take care.
drink plenty of fluids and exercise. and don't eat more than you can burn off
Sign up at glamour.com for in the body by glamour section. It's a whole section on eating well and fitness. Ypu can customize it for you weight, goals and lifestlye. Please lose weight the right way. Don't starve your self.
Oh good God. I'm also sixteen. Don't starve yourself. Are you crazy? I bet you're doing this for a guy. Just don't... it's not worth it...Here's my advice cardio!! Running, jogging, walking fast, aerobics, dance, swim, hell, do some jumping jacks. You need to get the heart rate up, and keep it up, and increase your oxygen flow. Some other cardio you can do is: Biking, rowing a boat, elliptical, jumprope, basketball etc. Crunches build muscle, that is anerobic(depriving oxygen) while cardio is aerobic(requiring oxygen)... So basically cardio burns fat, while anerobic exercises like lifting weights, build muscle. So without less fat your abs won't show. Even after 1,000,000,000 of situps or crunches. Cut the fat and the abs will shoe, therefore you'll have a good body. You should also eat healthy though... Eat something like steamed veggies!
whatever you do do not stop eating all together that would be a really bad idea do some jogging get a really get sweat everyday and drink alot of water after wards
if you straving your self you will just gain weight. try working out get a buddy that you can go to the gym with .. that way you have someone to push you tord your goals.. please dont take diet pills you will need to be on them the rest of your life to stay skinny that is if they even work... talk to your dr he/she can help you with the kinds of foods to eat,,,, till you can talk with them stay away from pop and candy , stuff like that. good luck
Don't starve yourself, only leads to problems.Eat fruits, vegetables, meats and healthy snacks like almonds.Eat small portion meals.Go to the gym or join a sport at school.
whatever u do, DON'T STARVE YOURSELF! it will only make you lose water weight tht will come back rele fast, then
u'll start to retain water and become even fatter. plus, u can't imagine all the health problems tht go along with it. check the calories on every food u eat, do u eat a lot of fatty foods, fried stuff maybe? do u eat a lot? u prolly already watch wut u eat soooo u could buy a whole bunch of this "new exercise equipment" use dieting pills, ask a doctor first! go to weight watchers, or get lyposucktion. if u choose the healthiest way(dieting and exercising) remember, it will take time, just don't give up and you WILL see a difference
k. Lose the soda,do morning jogs, engage in sports, do exersizes, watch ur weight by using th Serving Size in the Nutritional facts, get low fat and sugar free stuff. Don't eat anything super sweet at night, and don't go 2 fast food places a lot.
sorry theres no fast answer... the "easy answers" out there will get you nowhere fast..dont starve yourself... it isnt healthy and once you start eating again you have a better chance of gaining it all back because of the shock starving can cause your body.drink lots of water... natural fruit juices are also good... Dont drink soda pop! burn more calories than you take in... eat lots of fruits, vegetables, peanut butter. you can eat as much fruit and veges as you want... those things will never make you fat. watch your intake of carbs but dont lose them all together you need it for energy.. avoid most manufactured pre-packaged foods if you can... drink milk i believe it is a fat-fighter due to experience and articles i have read in fitness magazines. exercise... even if you dont go hardcore about it... a little exercise is always always better than none... find ways to stay active that you find enjoyable... cuz no one sticks with exercises or activities they dont find fun..good luck in all you do... remember all of the little things you do to try and improve yourself will add up... stick with it and dont give up either. peace and love to you!
Starving yourself will not help, I would suggest this; Everytime you feel the urge to get chew gum. Limit how many times a day you eat a full meal and how many times you snack during the day.Try this schedule and let me know if it works:
--In between each of these meals chew gum and drink alot of water. It'll cut down on you always feeling hungry and wanting to eat, and on your weight.Breakfast: Alternate your breakfast every morningEither:--A bowl of cereal with a glass of fruit juice : i.e--orange or apple (unsweetened for the apple. It contains less sugar)
--Toasted wheat bread with a little butter and a glass of fruit juice i.e--orange or apple (unsweetened for the apple. It contains less sugar)--Granola bars (if you like them, and which ever of your choice), a pudding cup, and a glass of fruit juice.Snack:--Fruit
--Popcorn
--Anything healthy--Lunch:
--Salad: Not to much cheese, No bacon, No eggs !
--If it's a meal, then try and not have to much on your plate. Smaller plates let you have a smaller serving of food.--Dinner: Try something different ever night-- Bake chicken with rice, salad, and a red bean gravy--Stewed or bake fish with mash potatoes, and salad--Anything else of your choice, as long as it healthy and it contains a salad--NOTHING FRIED! Baked, Stewed, and Steamed are the best type of foods. Fried foods contain the most amount of fat.--Desert:
--Yogurt
--Popsicles
--Ice Cream (the slow churned kind)
--Pudding (Fat Free)

Can somebody PLEASE motivate me!?

I joined weight watchers and I have been doing AWSOME but, I HATE working out. I have been following the diet...thats easy though but I cannot bring myself to work out. I haven't for about two weeks. Id much rather sit in front of the tv or computer! lol. MOTIVATE ME! say whatever you want...it wont hurt my feelings just do it! lol. Im not gaining, I am still losing but Im sure Its slowing down my weight loss. HELP
Answer:
cj,The HARDEST part of working out is getting started. You obviously have too many distractions at home. Join a gym or take a walk for 30 minutes in the evening.I workout 6 days a week. It took time for it to become a habit. I started off by saying "You ARE working out tomorrow. It's NOT an option." I took it one day at a time. Also, I do fun things. I run at the beach or with Nike Running. I belong to a gym with GORGEOUS men. I hike in very scenic areas of Los Angeles. That helps a lot also when you look forward to doing it.Also, post your progress online with like minded people. I have my workouts posted under Compuserve's Health Forum.
Why not get an exercise bike and put it infront of the tv? Then there are no excuses NOT to while you watch Greys Anatomy! Also see if there is anyone at your meetings that would like to exercise with you. The buddy system works great.
get you fat @ss up and work out!
It's difficult to answer not knowing your circumstances but what worked for me was getting a rescue dog! Even when I can't be bothered she wants to go out, she has LOTS of energy so we walk for approx. 1 hour in the morning then 1 or 2 short walks of 15 - 30 mins later in the day! Please do not get a dog if your circumstances don't allow you to dedicate a lot of time to them and remember they are a tie if you go away or stay out unexpectedly! Good luck and have fun!
No one can motivate you through words, start off small like when walking to the kitchen instead of just walking do lunges take big steps and drop you back knee slowly to the floor without letting it touch. Try butt clenches while you are watching tv, start off tensing at 25% for 15 secs then increase to 50% for 15secs then 75% for 15secs then 100% really tighten it as hard as you can for 30secs-45. Get some wrist and ankle weights so you regular activities become that little bit harder. I too have a really hard time with motivation I joined a martial arts schol and they have cardio classes where someone just shouts at you to work hard the whole time that's what it takes to really get me motivated! OR do you have a favourite song that is upbeat and really gets you excited try putting it on really loud and dancing really big movements just jump around like an idiot you will be suprised how it gets your heart pumping. failing that try walking more!Good luck
Motivation is a personal choice. I'm not talking about willpower, but I mean different things motivate different people. Maybe it is a workout partner, a new mp3 player with music with a killer beat to keep you moving, or like someone else said a dog to keep you going. One other item of note would be the type of work out. I HATE gyms, my personal choice is walking and swimming. For more helpful information check out http://www.healthfitnessarticle.com...
while watching tv i would exercise during commercials because nobody likes to watch commercials cuz they are long and that can give you a decent time limit to exercise between each commercial so u won't feel lazy.
Good luck u can do it!!

Can somebody help me?

I live in Europe and I'm high 166 cm and I have 51 kg. On this site people use some other things to calculate high. How much my hight is in your language? I'm 12, am I too fat?
Answer:
hah no way! i have been to about 4 countries in Europe, and the girls there are only hot, neer fat lol.. ;)and for you, it is an OK weight, but NOT fat. and your height is perfect! i love girls with medium height.do some running, but NEVER do any lifting. see u bye
That equates to 5 feet 5 inches tall and 112 pounds. That would make you underweight. Please don't worry about your weight.

Can smoking marijuanna and cigarettes interfere with my weight lose plan?

i do work out and eat healthy everyday, cucumbers, grapefruits, veggie thin crackers plain, dry cereal, sandwhices on brown bread and LOTS of water is what consume all day. and go on a uphill teadmill 20 mins a day in sweats
Answer:
As long as you don't give in to the "munchies," you're probably OK. It sounds as if you are eating healthy.Personally, I find that it can help because it makes my treadmill time more enjoyable.
nah man that actually helps cause when u smoke it exercises ur lungs. And if ur like me u got a huge bong and it like an exercise moving that thing around.
cigrettes and weed wont counter what u are doing, although as it directly effects your cardio vascular system it will limit the about youll work out on the treadmill, the less you can do the less fat youll burn the less weight youll lose. Tobacco and weed dont enhance weight gain though.
maybe or maybe not , but for sure it will interfere with your health.
not that i know unless after that jiont you get the munchy alot lol
Depends how often you do that stuff, it certainly isnt going to help.
Well, if you don't mind lung cancer...or not being able to breath after smoking (I found that I couldn't sing well for at least three days after smoking a cigarette) then regular cig's are OK.
Marijuana itself I don't think will make you lose or gain weight, but watch out for the munchies! hehe
Cigarettes speed up your metabolism everytime you smoke and will make you less hungry this is why most people gain 5-10 pounds when you quit smoking. Smoking weed also makes your metabolism go faster but if you get the munchies your diet's screwed.
Hate to tell u this, but Marijuana makes u hungry and gain weight. And it slows down the circulatory system. So do cigarettes. Do yourself a favor and quit the weed and smokes and you will feel a whole lot better..I promise.
Cigarettes are so bad for you why would someone on such a health kick use them?
I think the marijuana can make you put on. It is used in some cancer patients to help increase appetite after chemo. And I've heard it gives users the munchies, so I'd skip it if you want to loose weight.
Yes, the smoking of anything hurts your lungs which won't help your heart pump the best it can during exercise or accurate circulation anytime. I feel ya... try soy milk w/ your cereal, you can get Silk Light Soy milk and it's good and gives you great proteins and stuff.
Well i had heard that marijuana makes you hungry and it you should start to eat the wrong food after smoking marijuana, like a whole lots of sweet and chips and other starch yes it will interfere with your weight.
yeah As long as you don't give in to the "munchies you'll be okay
Smoking Marijuanna is illegal unless you are terminally ill, and have a prescription. this shouldn't interfere with your weight loss program. However, it will most likely burn some of those brain cells. Cigarettes, will effect your health. they can cause numerous breathing problems, and diseases ...including cancer. the way you are eating is healthy, but the way you are living your life is not. Maybe you should seek some form of counseling. It sounds tome like the only reason you are eating healthy is to lose weight, and not actually for your health. What good is it going to do you to be thin, if you are dying from emphysema, or lung cancer? You need to do more than eat healthy. You need to come off the dope, and atleast slack up on smoking, and maybe gradually quit. Plus, doesn't marijuanna give you the "munchies?" Eating large portions of food will interfere with your diet program, but mainly the bottom line is, you need to really think about your health. Eating right will not save your life, when you end up with cancer. I'm sure there are several risks to smoking marijuanna as well, so I hope you think about it, and find help, because you have a problem, much larger than you obviously know.
A friend that boarded with me in my townhouse managed to lose weight THROUGH marijuana, becasuse it motivated her and helped her focus on her goal. I am not condoning drugs but I can't deny that it helped her. She smoked very little though, to my relief. I was torn between the right and wrong of of my friend using this substance. But also grateful that she was 100% honest with me and gave me the opotion to chuck her out if I could not accept it. I smoked a few times with her and understood where she was coming from.I think you need to detox though. Toxins that the liver could not cope with are stored in fat. There comes a point after losing some weight where the fat cells refuse to let go and hold onto their load stubbornly in their attempt to protect your body. Detoxing allows the fat cells to let go and cleanses the entire system. This a detox diet, so you are cleaning out your system at the same time that you are losing weight. None of the vital food sources are left out.Search the web for 'cabbage soup diet'. There are a few variations of the cabbage soup itself so pick the one with the ingredients you prefer and then follow the seven day plan, which is the same for all of them. It works, I know because I use it every now and again. (And have been for many years) Mainly after Christmas. And don't worry, you don't ONLY eat cabbage. You lose 5kg+ in one week. (+- 11 lbs) but obviously only if you follow it strictly! (And drink lots of water! Possibly set an alarm on your handy that will beep you every hour during the day, then drink a glass of water. Many people say they forget to drink water until they are thirsty which is too late) .Don't forget that this IS a Diet and not meant to be continued for weeks on end. After you have lost the weight required, you must evaluate your eating/exercise habits and make consequent changes if you don't want to gain it back.
Good luck

Can running on a treadmill really make you loose weight?

I PUT ON SOOO MUCH WEIGHT I NEED TO LOOSE IT, WHATS THE BEST WAY?
Answer:
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, cycling, swimming etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
Yes. Running is one of the best exercises for losing weight! :)(you also have to eat healthy too, though, b/c exercise alone will not help if you are still eating poorly %26 not drinking enough water)
Yep! Running is a great all over body work out, one of the best ways to loose weight when on a healthy diet too.
Any cardio is good, but i swear by running for about 30 minutes everyday, it gives me energy and makes me feel grrrrreat!!
Cardiovascular exercise is important. But walking is good too. If you don't usually run and you start all of the sudden, you could end up with other problems, like sore knees/ankles/feet/back. Start small and gradually increase the intensity.Diet is also important. It does not mean you should starve yourself though. I recommend a book called YOU On a Diet. Search online. It does a good job of explaining why you won't lose weight if you just stop eating. You have to eat, but eat the right stuff.
Running is probably the best way to lose weight. Go on it for an hour a night and you'll lose the pounds.
Running is good. Disadvantage of a treadmill is that you could park the unit beside the fridge...and always reward yourself. Stop with the rewards. Get into jump rope if you can for an even faster burn(boxers use jump rope to keep in shape).
sure it will as long as you sweat alot
1. Answer to 'does running on a treadmill loose weight' - you can loose about 200 calories an hour. You would have to run vigorously about 15 hours to loose 1 pound of fat. Mostly you loose water. the good thing is, if you keep up exercise, it changes fat into muscles and muscles burns 50 times more calories then fat just sitting in a chair.
2. Answer to 'whats best to loose weight' - eat a little bit less then you need to sustain or gain your weight. That could be anything from 1200 - 2800 calories a day. Make a list of what you eat and look up how much calories intake you have. If you eat 1400 calories a day but you only need 1250, you will gain about 1 - 2 pound a month, that's 12 - 24 pounds a year.

Can pushups replace bench presses?

i'm 15 and don't really feel that comfortable going to the gym. Also, i don't have enough room for a weight bench at home. I heard that pushups can get similar results to bench presses. IS THIS TRUE?
Answer:
sort of you wont get as good results and it will take some time. push ups tone a different muscle then benchpressing does soo push ups are ok but you wont get the same results as benchpresses
TRUE...and it also help more on the back muscles
It is somewhat true, you just can't vary your weight like you can with a bench, unless you stack things on your back (which some do).
Put a pack on your back with weight in it, normal pushups will just tone rather than build.
Actually pushups are better because you work out more muscle groups than bench presses.
Sort of...you will probably get more definition from pushups but benchpresses will definitely make you stronger than pushups will and will build up your chest at the same time. Benchpressing is definitely superior to pushups, I know from experience.
Well doing a push-up is kind of similar but if you have a bench press you can increase the weight you use and get stronger. If you just do push ups then you'll only be using half of what you weigh (for example if you weigh 200 pounds you'll be pushing up around 90 pounds) so yeah but why don't you feel comfortable being in a Gym? HOnestly pushups can't replace the bench press but pushups help you while you don't have a bench press.
I've heard using your own weight to gain muscles is safe and effective. Instead of going to the gym and piling on a bunch or weights you are using your weight to build your muscles up. Granted you can only go so far in doing this because you only weigh as much as you weigh, but if you are uncomfortable going to the gym this is a good option! goodluck
Yup...pushups do replace a bench press. In fact...You can do all kinds of variations (think some yoga moves) and get more muscles involved at the same time. The biggest benefit to pushups is that they also work the core muscles...abs, obliques, extensors (low back) as you have to keep your body straight while doing a proper pushup. Also...at your age..you're still growing. Using your own body weight is the best thing to do.All you have to do to compliment your push ups...is get a chin up bar.can fit right in a doorway. With that...you will have hit the entire upper body. Do some squats and lunges...and you pretty much did a complete workout! This is exactly what I have instructed my 17 year old son prior to his boot camp this summer.at 6'5" tall...we want his joints healthy for any more growth potential.Keep moving!
you will get faster results from the bench press. I've done both weight training and body resistance only training at a time when I couldn't get to the gym because of work. Body resistance got me in shape (I could do three sets of 50 push ups, sit ups, squats and lunges every day, then run for 2-3 miles on the weekends) but it took a couple of months to really notice myself toning up. With weights you'll see results in three weeks or less. That being said, how many push ups can you do? If you struggle to do even 20, yeah, its a great place to start. But do them a couple of times a day and not quite to muscle failure. Do three sets of them.I like the advice above to mix in squats and lunges and pull ups. I'd say do some crunches, too, and you'd be set. And sign up for a sport! At 15, get active. Don't worry if you struggle for a while. You need to start building some lifetime fitness habits, and playing sports is a great way to start.

Can people tell me some low fat low calorie low sugar food please!?

also can you tell me a jam alternative for my bread
salt alternative
and othr food alternatives
thanks!
Answer:
Vegetables.Replace butter/marge with tinned tomato juice (dunk the bread in)
M : )
fresh vegetablessalt is ok as long as you drink lots of water
use splenda instead of sugar
eat wholemeal bread
weightwatchers food is good
Unless you're diabetic, you don't need jam and sugar alternatives. Eat real sugar in moderation, and don't be afraid of salt unless a doctor has asked you to lower your intake (in which case you can use the Mrs. Dash spice blends or other non-salt blends). But my opinion is to eat peanut butter or other nut butters on bread, because they're filling and provide protein.

Can one survive on only liquids?

Can one survive on juices, soya sauce, milk, water, soups, nutritional liquids...and abstain completely from solids?

Can Omega 3 oil burn fat?

I read that from many vitamin store web sites. Is it a fact or fiction?
Answer:
Nothing "burns fat" except your metabolism. Omega 3 oil can stimulate a higher metabolism, but unless you combine it with exercise, then the change is minimal, and could be achieved by any stimulant.
There is only one way to lose weight: eat less and exercise more.
Anything else is a scam and a sham.
fact,
No, but it makes you smarter.
It's not a diet, but it helps lower triglycerides and cholesterol making you healthier to exercise.
Yes I think it will also lower blood pressure. My doctor has told me to take it.He takes it to.Along with exercise.
yes as a matter of fact it can.

Can muscle turn to fat?

If you know the anwser, and there is an article about it can you please give that to me too. Please and thank you
Answer:
No, muscle is not convertable to fat. This myth arises from the observation that some bodybuilders or powerlifters turn soggy when they stop working out, This is due to a lack of compensation in their diet for reduced activity levels, so in essence they're getting more calories than their body needs. Additionally, muscles atrophy over time if a person isn't working on them.
no
Literally: no. You burn the fat off, and build muscles. Muscle tissue is different from fat.

Can milk thistle help from side effects of tylenol use?

I have had med problems in the past 2 yrs for which one dr or another has prescribed or told me to take numerous products containing tylenol.I am worried that this may have hurt my liver I have slightly higher than normal enzyme levels.I have discontinued use of these med for other meds. Also cannot take nsaids for other med conditions that leaves me lil choice of what to take. Please help.
Answer:
Milk Thistle is an excellent liver cleanser especially when combined with Dandelion. Don't use unless you are not taking any prescription meds (and I mean none) as it can clean out the meds from your system and cause trouble.
Look for a combination formula for best results. I've used Sangster's LIVR formula with great results for bringing enzyme levels down - didn't work right away, but there was a noticeable difference after a month (about one bottle) and it was cheap. It's a Canadian company of health stores with their own brand - love their stuff, it works! they have a website, but I can't remember it. Just Google "Sangster's"
Tylenol is a nasty thing. If you have pain, you could try Celadrin or MSM - no known interactions there and they are actaully good for you.
I have seen many, many people suffer liver damage from milk weed thistle. This is NOT a good idea! If you really research the legitimate sources (webmd, cdc, department of health websites, etc.) you will find that there is NO evidence that this is a beneficial herbal medication.
I would recommend milk thistle

Can milk help me grow tall ? if i drink mlk every day, and does it matter if it any milk?

Answer:
Hi friend, In my life of 61 years i have seen or heard no one getting tall by drinking milk or by taking any kinds of medicines inspite of some tall claims made by quacks. However my sense of logic tells me that playing volleyball, basketball and cycling may help provided you are still young enough.
As for milk, nothing wrong with drinking it.In my opinion cow's milk is the best what with its less fat content, very little cholestrol and easy digestiblity.
nope, but play some basketball and you may grow a little
It's packed with calcium so of course!
i hop so bc thts wut im trying to do lol.
Milk builds strong bones so I guess yeah
uh... dont drink milk. its nasty. DUH
maybe,i dont really know if milk has that sort of proprerties but i do know it will make you bones stronger and that cant be bad.
the only thing cows milk was meant for was baby cows.avoid it - eating animal products makes you more likely to get cancer.eat almond nut milk instead, much healthier.
Proper nutrition allows your body to reach it maximum potential in height and general health. Milk, vegetables and protein are important part of that proper nutrition.
i dont think so i love milk and drink it almost every day and im still the same height. i wish it could sometimes so i can grow at least 2-3 inches.
No! Milk wont help you "grow tall". Only genetics can determine how tall you will be. Milk will however make your bones strong.
Maybe a bit, but just milk won't help. Most people think that just by drinking milk, they'll start growing; so they go off and sleep and play computer games. I advice playing some sports (like basketball or volleyball which involves jumping) and working out your calves.
It depends. If you're a teenager you should drink milk every day. It may or may not make you tall depending on your genetics and also whether or not you get good sleep. Getting enough rest is important to getting taller because you grow the most while you're snoozing. Just make sure you don't snooze too much and miss school in the morning.
it makes strong bones but doesn't necessarily mean you will be taller
Your height is already decided by your genetics, so no matter how hard you eat or how hard you exercise, you'll be what is written on your genes.
no, milk will not make you taller. it will make your bones stronger, which is good. but defintely not taller. No one can alter their own hight. How ever tall your going to be is how tall your going to be. hope i could help.
no AT ALL, i wish that's true =/ , am the only 1 in my house drinking milk dially and the shortest =p
i don't think so shorty, milk have calcium, thats what makes bones stronger but NOT bigger, if you're +20yr old you won't grow any taller no matter how much milk you drink!
It will not make you taller, genes, immediate or from great grandparents etc. usually decipher height. But it is important to drink mild. Strong bones are essential to good health.
%26gt;Well, no you can have good bones,
good muscle tissue, nice skin with
something other than milk. I guess.Even if you are lactose-intolerant you can
drink a type of lactose-free milk. That's new. That's where my knowledge ends. But I
drink Vitamin D(red label), because skim milk
has been questioned a lot about how healthy it is.A lot of people eat butter now instead ofmargarine. Everyone should have a certain amount of fat, because it helps you havebone and joint cushioning..
..
.
drinking milk is going to prevent bone loss when you get older, after menopause. It wont help u get taller now,but it will make your bones stronger so you wont get osteoporosis(spell check)when you're 50.

Can lifting weights make you weaker?

about 2 years ago when I was 14 I could do 70 pushups in 2 minutes. Now I can only do 50. What is up? I only lift weights every other day. If I quit will I be able to get my pushups back if I just do pushups? Please I need help I am training for the Navy Seals.
Answer:
Every other day is best. After you strain muscle, you should give it time to rest and recover.
no it doesnt
No, they do the opposite.
A couple of possibilities:
1. You are probably larger and have to move further to do each push-up.
2. You are probably doing better and longer push-ups. Don't obsess.
if your doing pushups after youlift you won't be able to do as much as you think, your muscles are tired already if your doing them on your day off your muscles are recuperating try not lifting for a week and see what happens
no they make u stronger look at the wrestlers they do push ups and lift weight a lot and they look like a monster with those muscles

Can lifting weights make you shorter?

I heard lifting weights that are heavy can prevent you from growing and can actually make you shorter.
im a teenager, is this true?
Answer:
NO according to the qualified trainer, Hugo Rivera, ISSA certified, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering guy who authored the article in the source box. He states that running and jumping cause more bone compression than weights. Hugo goes on to give examples of Kazaam, Conan the Barbarian, etc., who didn't get short due to lifting weights. His point is that genetics and nutrition are height determinative . I agree with Hugo. But beware Gymnastics and similar activities! One story I have is about this girl I knew. She was 4'11" for the longest time. She wanted to have a boyfriend and be taller so she quit gymnastics at age14 or so. Her sister who was a few years younger was also taller than her by a few inches so that played into her decision. Now, this could be a coincidence with growing as a teen, but she shot up to 5'5" in the first year alone, and she ended up being 5'6" or 5'7". Maybe it was her gymnastics diet that messed her height up. I think it was the gymnastics themselves. Lifting doesn't force your body to become more compact, it forces muscle gain. Gymnastics, however, cause a body to become lighter and more compact for utility purposes of their activity. The body adapts well. Watch out for activities that require compacting your body. This warning is for people in the growing years only. I don't think it will affect you much once you're out of the growth phase. Never heard of someone age 30 doing gymnastics and shrinking a foot.
lifting heavy weights, it reduce your growing capabilities. But it shouldn't be a problem for a girl
i've ben lifting weights since i was 5 and i;m 5'3 so i'm gonna go with a yes,.lol but then again my mom is 5'0 and my dad is 5'6 so genetics has a lot to do with it...
yes because i know a kid who lifts weights and he is freakin 4" 4
p.s. r u hot?

Can jumping rope help me lose enough weight?

So, right now, I'm 13, 160 pounds, and 5'1". I want to lose weight and have a nice, toned body before I turn 14. Or at least fix my problem areas [upper arms, hips, waist and back]. Can jumping rope for an hour or two help me lose weight, including a diet, wherein I can't consume too much meat (because I gain muscle quickly), and only lots of vegetables?
I have a very lazy lifestyle, and I want to change that before it's too late. D= So will I be able to achieve a good body within a year's time by jumping rope and that diet?
Answer:
Here is a list of the benefits of jumpin rope: Is one of the highest fat-burning aerobic activities
Burns fat Throughout your bodyProduces visible results in a short period of timeImproves cardiovascular health and aerobic capacityHelps reduce celluliteStrengthen, tones and defines all major muscles in the upper and lower bodiesImproves coordination, balance, stamina and agilityIs completely portable, great for traveling
that's how jenifer lopez lost weight.
You'll be doing cardio so, you will be losing some weight...
It will if you reduce your calorie intake. A solo flex machine would be the best way to exercise. You'll really have a good body if you work out on it for a year. Look in the paper for someone who is selling theirs. They are practically indestructible. Howwever, it will be not as cheap as a jumping rope.
yes it will help but you need to exercise and eat right ie a all-round work out not just one area

Can jumping on a trampoline somehow get me a flatter stomach or help me lose some excess body fat?

Answer:
It might not get you a flatter stomach, but it could help you stay fit, and lose some excess weight because it is burning some calories. To flatten your stomach, do crunches 40 times a day; 20 in the morning and 20 at night. That's what I do and I have some nice abs =]
yes, it's helpful
http://www.best-diet-food.com
ya but only if u try to jump high and do tricks then ull be sweating so youll lose some pounds
yes, especially if you tighten your abs, hold a strong core while jumping.

Can I work on my muscles at this age?

I'm 13 years old. Can I work on my biceps and abdominal muscles at this age? I've recently started doing crunches and lifting dumbells regulerly. Why is it that my arms are more sore than my abdominal muscles although I work on both of them equally?
Answer:
You'll hear it a lot that lifting weights or doing resistance training young wills stunt growth or is otherwise particularly harmful because you're young. This is simply untrue and has no scientific basis. Some of the greatest bodybuilders and powerlifters started very young, before their teens even, and they turned out fine. As long as you're safe and take time to do exercises correctly, you should be ok. Have an experienced adult or trainer show you how to lift properly to be safe as well as get the most out of the exercise. Concentrate on form more than anything else and perfect that before worrying about adding weight. And most of all, have fun with it.Comparing different muscle groups and how they respond is apples and oranges. Also, everyone is different and have their strong and weak points. As mentioned above, the "less sore" bodypart probably wasn't stimulated enough.
yeah thats a good age. im doin a lot of biceps triceps and abs. the ab soreness will come after a while with some cardio. and after a night of lifting rest the next day and do it the next night. let your muscles rest and grow.
certainly! I joined my first gym at 13.certain body parts may be more sore than others, it doesn't mean that the body part was not exercised sufficiently if there is no soreness.
Before the age of 16, building muscle isn't a great idea. However, you can still work out, but use lighter weights (so more tonning), and just don't go crazy. Of course, you can do as much cardio as you like. You use your abdominal muscles on a daily basis. They are your body's core, and whenever you lift something, walk, or even laugh, the muscles are engaged. Arms, however, are not used as often, and when you lift weights you are targetting musles you don't use on a regular basis, so you will be more sore. Remember that your muscles grow when they are resting, so give them 24 hours before working them out again or you will be counter productive. Also, you are lifting weights with your arms, but when you do ab exercises you aren't necessarily lifting anything, but rather tonning, so it isn't as strenuous. The best exercise for a 13 year old is a sport! Are there any sports you like? You will get in shape, have fun, and i'm sure your coach will get you to do conditioning (abs, arms, legs etc). Consider joining a team.
You might be a little young to be lifting weights. Doing bodyweight exercises shouldn't be much of a problem. Bodyweight exercises include: squats without weight, pushups, crunches, and that sort of thing. Your arms are more sore because they are either weaker than your abdominal, or aren't working your abs hard enough. Don't go crazy with the exercise just yet and wait a little before hitting the weights.
First off, I've been lifting weights for about 20 years, I've been in two body building contests, but have no desire to do that for a living,Abs are the hardest muscle to work. They stabilize your torso when you do anything and everything. You will have to hit them very hard to make them feel sore like your arms. That said, most people have great looking abs, you just can't see them because of a layer of fat on top of them. I suggest dieting, and the good old fashion crunches. The other thing to point out is that you need to work muscles symmetrically. If you're working out your biceps, make sure you hit your tri's too. Big biceps and little tri's looks funny, not sexy.

Can i weight train every day?

Answer:
Yes, but you should "split" your workouts. You can train some muscles on days 1, 3, and 5, and others on days 2, 4, and 6. Muscles need time to recover, so it's best not to work the same group every day. Here is a sample training guide:http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/weig...
Stagger your work outs so that each body part gets a couple of days rest in between work outs.
you should give the muscles time to recover. Your strength gain is during recovery, if you continue to work without recovery you will get weaker, not stronger. You can alternate upper and lower body workouts, so that you train everyday, but not the same muscle groups.
yes, if you work on different muscles (one day legs, second - arms - third abs)
muscles need time to recover.
take one day a week off - the whole body needs to rest also.

Can i use Xenical and Reductil together at the same time to lose weight?

Answer:
I wouldn't recommend using EITHER, esp. not at the same time. How many times have we heard HORRIFYING reports on the ill effects of weight loss meds that have turned out to cause heart attacks or strokes? They don't know the side effects most of the time, and they use us as Guinea pigs. I recommend good old fashioned sweating and portion control.
No, there both similar thing youll just be sh!tt!n ya self the whole time! not recomended youd probably kill ya self and im very serious!
Xenical works on the digestive system, while Reductil works on the Central Nervous System.
Both are very potent drugs that if not taken and prescribes by a registered medical practitioner could be extremely dangerous.Reductil as well as most weight loss medications cause elevations in blood pressure, as well as many other side effects. Many cannot be taken with other prescription drugs and certainly it is not recommended to take both at the same time.
Hi, oooh I would deffinalty not recommend it, as I think one of them should do, my cousin was taking xenical and she lost loads of weight, but I think just taking this one made her ill. I think it makes you go to the toilet more often like a laxative and I think it might supress your appetite to so your not eating as much but pooping loads.
So I would either use one or the other but deffiantly not both together as you could find your self seriously ill in hospital.I was taking something for slimming which wasnt prescribe to me, but basiclally did the same as the once you mentioned and I was ill from day one of taking it, So I wouldnt wish that on anyone.
If you want to loose weight just cut done on protion sizes and you will loose a few pounds in a few weeks and you dont even need to cut out all the things you like to eat. Better to be safe than sorry
You can't take them together. If you don't change your lifestyle and take exercise no amount of diet pills will help you anyway!Without wishing to seem impolite Type ' weight loss ' into the search for questions box and you will see the answers to the 20 questions like yours that clutter ' Answers ' every day, together with their standard answers.
Type in 鈥楢nswers swamped with weight loss questions!?鈥? to see what regular contributors think.I will cut and paste my stock answer, however it is interesting to see how close this is ( I have been using it for over 2 months), to a recent paper from University of California. They did a meta-analysis of all the work on weight loss over the past few years. ( summary) It showed that 2/3 of people who diet yo-yo to a higher weight, none of the faddy diets of diet pills work and that rapid weight loss doubles heart attack risk! They seemed to suggest the only hope was modest calorie reduction + EXERCISE.This is a news report of the article:
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/health/...I have to admit I have a 'stock' answer for this question, since if you look it appears 20-30 times every day!Type 'guaranteed weight loss' into google, you will find 1 1/2 million sites!Look around you if ANY of these things worked would we be getting so overweight? We are what we eat, but we are at least as much what we don't do. Calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than they are now, we just don't use them up!Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg.Take a healthy amount of exercise 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise per day 4-5 days a week. I hate to think what percentage of the UK population does that 2%? 5%?I have seen hundreds of questions with this same pattern :- I am fat, tell me where on line I can get this super diet or herbal/dangerous/illegal drug that I hear will fix it for me in 10 minutes without the need for me to get off the couch! No fixes pal , less in more out, its the only way.
It's not a good idea but I've done it and I'm still alive! I did not experience bad side effects. A chemist told me that they do not interact. However you know the drill...Ask your GP who will most certainly say NO! And remember It's different for everyone!

Can I use protein shakes to replace meals and loose weight?

Im trying to loose weight but I heard protein shakes are better to use. Is it ok to use protein shakes as a meal replacement? Kind of like slim fast
Answer:
no because if you will lose weight then it would be muscle tissue rather than fat. besides as soon you start eating normal again you will gain weight, typical yoyo effect. proper protein shakes(not slimfast) should be taken when you exercise in order to help your body to burn fat and to turn it into lean muscle. but as i said it only works if you exercise regularly
yumm.. sounds good.. go for it.
You could but you'll still get hunger pangs... no ones going to advise you to do that...and you'll get bored very fast...
try 3 protien shakes aday (go to holland %26 barretts and get a big tub) eat ceriel instead of your main meals...and snack on fruit.if your doing this do 2 days on 1 day off...you cant use protien shakes on therer own you'll literally be starving!...you can get hunger surpressent tablets from healthfood shops as well...only problem (AGAIN) that could occur because your not getting the right nutrients your skin may become dull,spotty...think about it!!
drastic weight loss is never the answer!
only for breakfast i think. theirs way better protein shakes than slim fast. if u take em every meal u actually gain weight
If you are going to use a MRP (meal replacement powder) you should make sure it has lots of nutrients, and is low in fat. You want something that is relatively low in calories as well obviously. I replaced 2 meals a day (not as hard as it seems) with shakes and dropped 15lbs in less than 3 weeks. Make sure you are still eating one good meal a day, and have small snacks throughout the day. Try sugar snap peas and baby carrots for something that is healthy and yummy. Just make sure not to use dressing as that adds loads of calories! Cut out your coffee intake too, at least the sugary, creamy drinks. 1 coffee drink can have as many as 700 calories! If you do decide on coffee, make sure and use low fat or soy milk, and avoid any extras. Drip black coffee is the best when you are dieting.
Back to the protein shakes, my favourite brand is MuscleMilk LIGHT- less calories, great taste, its amazing. They have all sorts of flavours. You can usually find it at GNC or any other vitamin store.
actually my friend who's a model
he recommended me protein shakes so i decided to try it out and yes it worked i got some on line from http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/dya/pr... they are quiet good and taste fab
as long as you are taking in less calories than you would normally ( normally when maintaining your weight,) you will loose weight.Protien shake or whatever.Dont try to substitue all foods for protien shakes. As delicious as you may find them they will omit the 5 a day fruit and vegetables you need to have, and popping vitamin pills wont cover you, there are some vitamins which are only soluable within their pulped state or non juiced state.
Also remember that many protien shakes have added sugars to make them more palletable. This means alot of sugar will be left on your teeth and will start to erode the enamel. As you would have normally hadfood to get rid of some of this enamel by chewing and swallowing food, the acid would normally be far more diluted on your teeth, but as you wouldnt be eating so much there is nothing to do this, hence the acid lingering for far longer. Believe it or not water doenst do an awful lot in terms or getting rid of alot of this acid- some but not all, and brushing your teeth can often be too abrasive and cause you to rub the acid further into the enale and into your teeth. Once you ruin your teeth? its dentures or nothing! Also you will be risking having off-the-diet days if you give up eating all solids. It would be normal to crave different textures and as this wouldnt be part of your new diet, it would have to be that you would be breaking your diet to eat anything. It may be hard to stop eating once you have started.Try to get some help from a nutritionist or dietition as each protien shake will be produced for different reasons, some as meal replacements, some as muscle building others to gain weight.
I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 17 inches in 9 days and then 28 pounds in about a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc鈥? These toxins enter our bodies and get coated with fat. To remove the extra fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. I lost 30 pounds in 5 weeks and I feel great. My skin has improved as well from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck! http://losebigweight.com
Digestion of food starts in your mouth by chewing your food. Your saliva contains amylase, which is an enzyme that breaks down food. When you chew and swallow, you also give your brain the message that you are eating. They say that you should chew your food something like 20 times before you swallow it (by that time the food is very small and you've got all the taste out of it). They say this for a reason. This process is called eating and it is very beneficial for you. It is a good thing when you want to lose weight because your brain will believe that you've actually eaten something.
If you drink liquid food you haven't gone through this eating process so you won't digest your food that well and because you haven't chewed, your brain will think you haven't eaten. Yes, you've had a drink but that's not food. I would advise that you eat healthy meals with good mixtures of quality protein, complex carbohydrates and essential fatty acids. That way you satisfy your palate, your brain and perhaps it will be easier for you to lose weight too. Those protein shakes are there just to top up your protein intake but you shouldn't use them as meal replacement substances even if they are called meal replacement shakes. Enjoy your food!
Yes you would but it would be mainly muscle and you would not get enough vitamins etc and when you have finished this silly diet you would gain more weight than you lost.

Can i use nuts to substitute Protien shakes for protien?

Answer:
If you have a sensitive digestive system I'd recommend staying away from nuts. Your body will absorb all of the nutrients, but will also have a hard time digesting the nut itself. You can go to a grocery store and find protein tablets in the vitamin isle.
Most nuts only have 5-9 grams of protein per 1/4 cup.

Can i use more milk in my protein shake?

Is it ok to add more milk to a protein shake beacuse i dont like the taste of the one i have. Its whey iso banana berry burst from gnc.
Answer:
certainly...
use water. milk isnt good for humans anyway, get some soy milk if you are going to use milk. I use water with my shakes it tastes good to me
try "the variety approach". there are other sources of protein powders. experiment with them. i personally don't care for thick pasty shakes, so i like more milk, but i dont like milk that much especially in drinks. maybe the milk is adding to the nasty taste. so, try some other "milk", soy, rice; etc. and/or try different protein powders. one that i think doesnt taste bad is "muscle milk"
YES OF COURSE U CAN ADD MILK , IT INCREASES TASTE OTHERWISE IT;S UNBEARABLE... oH MY GOODNESS , ADD FLAVOR!! ..ADD JUICE AND OTHER NATURAL BERRIES !!!

Can i take fresh coconut water if i am loosing weight? and how many glasses can i take HELP PLEASEEEEEE.?

Answer:
First you have to ascertain the reasons for weight loss..Whether you are OK not OK coconut water is not going to harm. You can consume as much as you can afford-physically %26financially
anything u want, any quantity u want
Yes.It is very good for us, but a female derives many benifits from it.
But what is important is that you do not exceed your daily calorie count, water from one fresh coconut per day will leave enough room for other foods. If you consume the coconut meat(malie, pulp) then you must adjust the calories for that accordingly.I am enclosing my two articles on weight, please read them and understand them.

Life Style Change Program for Loosing Weight
By
minootooWho needs to loose weight?Answer is simply not every one, only the over weight person.Who is over weight? This is simple, it is easy to find out and it is available on line, it is call Body Mass Index, and calculations are simple. According to this calculation if you find your self say only 10 pounds more, you may not be over weight. Remember every one is slightly different and you can just watch it, on your own and not let it get out of hand. What is the reason for being over weight? This is also simple, have doctor check you out for any physical or hormonal abnormalities. The doctor should be advising you of your ideal weight even though you have already figured out the ideal weight and you are seen a doctor because your weight is not where it should be according to BMI.Basic understanding of loosing weight.Every one uses calories at all time. There may be some exceptions to this rule, for most of us; the rate of use, even when we are resting, we use 65 calories per hour minimum. This comes to1560 calories per day. The actual range is between 65 and 100 calories per hour. This is consistent with heart rate of 60 to 80 bits per minute.Simply put any person eating only say 1500 calories a day will not put on any additional weight. At this level of calories consumption the person should loose some weight over long haul, depending on the individual rate of metabolism. What is a healthy weight loss? When one tries to loose weight, one should loose excess fat; there should be a healthy loss of weight. Loosing muscles tissue is unhealthy. How much is one pound of body fat?One pound of body fat weight is approximately same as one pound of butter. If you look at a one pound package of butter, you will see it contains between 3200 to 3600 calories. This means that each time a person burns 3600 more calories then what the person takes in, the person will loose one pound. How many pounds should a person loose in a month?Any one that is trying to trim down can figure out how long it took to put on the excess pounds. The fact is; it did not happen over night. It usually creeps up, but the person realizes one day suddenly. This is why a person should not be in a hurry to loose weight. The person should start at once but go slowly. Do not wait for New Year.Taking above in to consideration a person should not loose more then 2 pounds per month. If a person looses any thing more then that, chances are that the person will not be able to maintain the weight loss. It will take extra efforts to loose and it will take extra efforts to keep it off. Remember slow and steady wins the race.
When an overweight person should start loosing weight? At once. The person should not be in a hurry to loose weight. The person should start at once but go slowly. Again do not wait for New Year. How does body react to weight lose?Any time there is depletion of fat beyond certain level, the body reacts by slowing down metabolism, so that it can build up fat. If the body is use to say 2000 calories per day and detects only 1500 calories per day for considerable length of time it reacts to the situation by reducing the rate of metabolism. When this happens one need to help body by increasing activity. Usually takes about four weeks for body to react. What is the relationship between body and body fat?Under ideal condition fat act as a reserved energy source for our body. Certain level of fat is good for healthy living and even may save our life in certain life threatening situations. Every one should have minimum required level of fat on their body. What if there is no weight loss at 1500 calories in take level? This is a rear occurrence. Do not panic. The body has slowed down the metabolism to such a great extent that you must help it. The only way to help is to increase activities, this means you have to exercise. You do not need to join Gym but you can go on an an half an hour walk every day or batter still engage in a power walk for same duration. Power walk burns 250 calories per hour and walk burns 100 calories per hour approximately. What is the importance of body fat for a female?Females require little more body fat then men. In the absence of certain required level of body fat, females are not able to function properly; in particular they may not be able to conceive. You can find lot more about this on internet. At 1500 calories intake per day what one must drink and eat?DrinkOne gallon of liquids most of witch should be in the form of water (zero calories).
Calories should be accounted for all other liquids. Why water?Water is a universal solvent, means it dissolves almost every thing at least in very minute quantities. This helps purification of body.EatWhat should be your proportionate in take of fat, Proteins and Complex Carbohydrates? This depends on what your need are.1.Need to reduce fat.Fat: 10 percent of 1500 calorie per day = 150 calories.
Complex Carbohydrates: 30 percent of 1500 calories per day = 450 calories.
Proteins: 60 percent of 1500 calories per day = 900 calories.2.Need more energy.Fat: 10 percent of 1500 calorie per day = 150 calories.
Complex Carbohydrates: 40 percent of 1500 calories per day = 450 calories.
Proteins: 50 percent of 1500 calories per day = 750 calories.3.Need to reduce weight only.Fat: 25 percent of 1500 calorie per day = 375 calories.
Complex Carbohydrates: 25 percent of 1500 calories per day = 375 calories.
Proteins: 50 percent of 1500 calories per day = 750 calories.4.Need to increase muscles bulk, but still reduce weight.Fat: 10 percent of 1500 calorie per day = 150 calories.
Complex Carbohydrates: 15 percent of 1500 calories per day = 225 calories.
Proteins: 75 percent of 1500 calories per day = 1125 calories.
Exercise the muscles you want to develop, you can find right exercise on line, recommend use of light weights.Foot note: To take fat is so important, while reducing even fat, that it is included in all cases. If the fat is completely cut out, body will think of producing the fat, and will produce the fat by reducing metabolism, without fat in take, you may actually again weight even at lower than 1500 calorie level. You will feel run down and lethargic. How one must, drink and eat?DrinkEvery one may not be able to follow this regime.A 16 oz glass of water fist thing in the morning will be very healthy start.
If you need to stabilize your stomach before eating, you can have a glass of water just before each and every meal. This is the easiest way to meet your quota of gallon of liquids.EatTo day almost half the world is starving. In western culture. Standard healthy practice for long time was three warm square meals per day. No eating in between, but children were allowed night cap.All that has changed, present thinking is 5 to 6 times per day. Any way what practice one follows is up to them; to each his own.Another best practice will be a glass of water before bed time, nothing to eat for two hours before bed time. How do I know the calorie count for various drinks and food?If you are buying packaged items it is on the package.Go on the internet and find the calorie information.Lots of cook book now a days list calorie per serving.
Use your best guess, in this method use higher figure then you have guessed.References:

Body Building
BY
minootooYou are blessed. How old are you? Most people put on weight after age 40.Any way before you try any thing, see a doctor to rule out any abnormalities (Hormone, Pituitary).Remember it is ten times easier to put on the weight then to take it off.
Body building is opposite of weight loss. But you must understand weight loss in order to build body.I will include my article on weight loss also. Most people eat protein reach food and complex carbohydrates, with one thing in mind, that they have to exercise 6 days a week and they have to eat more than what they burn off each day.If you eat about 300 to 400 more calories per day then you burn off, you have a weight gain of slightly less than one pound per week. You need to eat about 4000 calories per day minimum. If that does not work than slow down your exercises routine. In extreme case you will not exercises for two weeks at all, followed by vigorous exercises routine for six weeks. Repeat this cycle again and again till you reach your goal.References:

Can i take 16 dulcolax tablets a day to stay slim..?

i used to take 1 to 2 tablets a day but had to increase till sixteen tablets coz it wasn't strong enough and had bloating problem..i had started taking dulcolax since after birth to keep slim in tummy area...is there any side effect for now and future?
Answer:
No- this is not the way to lose weight, and is very dangerous and detrimental to your health. If you feel you are overweight, you need to change your diet and exercise. As your doctor knows your complete health history, he/she can recommend a diet and exercise plan that will work for you. A nutritionist can also be consulted.
are you crazy? where is the vanity coming from?? as a mother, the body changes come with the territory. on average, safe mother baby weight loss is 20 lbs over the child's first YEAR of life. if you are taking a laxative (MUCH LESS 16 of them) then you have a major eating disorder and need psychological help and god forbid this continues till when your child can see.the disorder will be passed down to them because their momma thinks a skinny body is more important than NOT destroying your internal organs.DON"T DO THIS ANYMORE!! you are killing your body! just exercise and eat less portions! i'm a mother of two and have to fight really hard, but am at the weight i was as a junior in high school, but i restrict my caloric intake to 1500 calories a day and work out 5 times a week. just do it!
Please see a doctor. You are seriously damaging your health and a flat tummy is just not worth that. Here are some of the health consequences you are facing:Upset of electrolyte and mineral balances. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus are electrolytes and minerals that are present in very specific amounts necessary for proper functioning of the nerves and muscles, including those of the colon and heart. Upsetting this delicate balance can cause improper functioning of these vital organs. YOU CAN DIE FROM ELECTROLYTE IMBALANCE.Severe dehydration may cause tremors, weakness, blurry vision, fainting, kidney damage, and, in extreme cases, death. Dehydration often requires medical treatment. YOU CAN ALSO DIE FROM DEHYDRATION.Laxative dependency occurs when the colon stops reacting to usual doses of laxatives so that larger and larger amounts of laxatives may be needed to produce bowel movements. Internal organ damage may result, including stretched or “lazy” colon, colon infection, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and, rarely, liver damage. Chronic laxative abuse may contribute to risk of colon cancer..and if you don't like not having a flat tummy you will probably also NOT like the consequences of colon cancer if you survive.
omg, thats the worst thing ever, you'll become more dependent on them then you are now. You'll probably loose some major body functions to. You're poisening your body. Just exersize drink lots of water and try to reduce the amount of food you eat and eat the right foods like lean meats, lots of fruits and vegitables, and only whole grains and you'll start looseing wieght in no time. Plus you'll loose wieght for the long run not just for a day or two.
Are you trying to commit suicide? People take laxatives to keep slim, most of them are aneroxic or belimic. You should talk to your doctor about this. He can help you, well he needs to help you before you are seriously ill.
Most laxatives are bowel irritants that cause food to move so quickly through your system that you often will not absorb enough of the nutrients in them. You can easily become dependent on laxatives---in other words, you won't be able to have a BM without them after awhile. Here's a quote for you: "The misuse of laxatives and enemas can cause serious, sometimes irreversible, sometimes fatal problems." Did you get that? FATAL. They flush needed minerals out of your body, cause dehydration, and remove the protective lining of your colon, leaving it open to infection. Do these things instead: Eat plenty of natural fiber, in the form of food. Eat a real breakfast, drink enough water, go for walks, and if you need to, see a doctor or therapist. Be there for your new child---laxative abuse can kill.
If you want to keep your health, your metabolism and your energy, don’t give into diet pills! For a more scientific explanation of why what you’re doing is going to hurt you in the long run, please please please consider watching this video, hopefully it will change your life for the better:
http://coaches.aol.com/diet/jana-klauer/...
there is a side effect. most diet pills have the same action as a laxative. Laxatives promotes faster excretion of feces thus when the food eaten pass rapidly from the stomach to the small intestine and going to the large intestine, their is only minimal absorption taking place thus your body is still going to crave for food.
Excersize and good diet are the only way. Do NOT take that many diet pills of any kind. And also perhaps you could work on your self esteem and 'inside' rather thatn worrying so much about the outer self.Good luck, and enjoy your beautiful baby!
Obviously not. Practice a healthy diet, exercise, and lifestyle and you will lose weight successfully. If need be consult a personal trainer or a nutritionist.

Can I still have a good workout?

I asked a question earlier about Hoodia products and someone said to just excercise. Ok. I can do that. But what excercise is safe when you have a herniated disk that is very painful 24 hours a day?! Can someone help?!
Answer:
I would suggest maybe trying yoga or pilates. I'm sure it can be done safely more than being on a treadmill or an elliptical. It will strengthen your back and you will get in great shape. Maybe call your local gyms and ask questions. They will be able to help you figure out a good workout program that won't damage or put you in more pain.I hope this helps. Good luck.

Can I still drink alcohol ( martinis) if I want to lose weight?

Answer:
I lost forty pounds over a 3-month period while continuing to consume what some might consider excessive quantities of beer on a regular basis. I also started exercising and eating healthier. My self-esteem got better and I don't do so much the beer thing like I used to. But, yeah, it's possible. Why not?
one or two may be ok
Drinking alcohol is not good if you want to lose weight but there is low cal, carb options to drinking while your dieting. Take a spin around the local liquor store and look for you low cal carb options
nope, it interfere with your digestion of foods.
you shouldn't drink alcohol, because it will burn sugar instead of burn fat.
http://www.best-diet-food.com
Yes but you always want to do it in moderation. Avoid beer and high carb alcoholic drinks. Vodka and diet soda would be your best bet if you feel the need to drink. Usually darker liquors or sweet liquors will have higher calorie counts then nicer vodkas or gins.
Losing weight is about a lifestyle change. So, can you see yourself never drinking a martini again? Probably not, so that means that somehow martini's will have to become a part of your healthy diet, but in moderation. Just like the ocassional cookie, piece of cake, or even dinner out are all part of our lifestyles and if we deprive ourselves from them, we eventually "binge."Losing weight is all about calories in vs. calories out. As long as you are burning more calories than you are consuming, you will lose weight. It takes 3500 calories in 1 week to burn 1 lb. So, figure out how many calories a martini has and calcualte it into your diet. You may eat less that day, or you may go to the gym longer. Remember that you still need all your food groups for proper nutrition. Instead of multiple martini's have only 1, and limit it to once a week or less. For 100 ml (less than 1/2 a cup) of a martini has 175 calories. An average daily intake on a diet is around 1200 calories. So, simply do the math and you'll be okay.

Can I replace water with ice tea?

I am starting a fitness plan and it says drink 8 oz glasses of water per day. I'm not big on water, but I love ice tea. I don't put suger in my tea, so its just water and a tea bag. Can that count as my 8 glasses of water?
Answer:
Yes -IF it is herbal tea with NO caffeine. If it is black, white or green tea it has caffeine which is a diuretic and will get you dehydrated. Try other sugar free caffeine free beverages. And also try water :o)
try to make sure it doesn't have regular sugar in it though okay
Yes you can, but also try to fit some water in there if you can. Maybe try flavored water, lemon in it?
You can, but it should really be decaffeinated.
sure
tea is good for weight loss
http://www.best-diet-food.com
No, Ice tea is not the same as water alone. I have a problem drinking water like I should but I drink as much as I can and I have found it easier to drink water when it is very cold. Good luck.
no, water is water. once anything changes the chemical compound of the water, it is no longer water.
NO, because tea can make you dehydrate, just take water and put some ice with 2 pcs. of slice lemon, it helps make water smells good.
It would have to be a decaffeinated, non-diuretic tea.
It's called "iced" tea not "ice" tea, and yes, you can.
While you can drink the tea without gaining weight, you should drink it in addition to your water requirements ... not in place of the water.

Can i replace salt with pepper in my diet?

my doctor recommended me to reduce my salt intake for this 1 medication i'm taking...so my question is.on fries, can i replace the salt for pepper? does pepper have salt in it?
Answer:
Sure you can replace salt for pepper. Pepper does not have salt on it. But be very carefull, and do not stop getting salt on your food because the tyroid gland, which produces two of the most important hormones in your body required iodine. In the US there is a deficiency of iodine, thus salt is iodized.
Pepper is a spice, while salt is a mineral. You can definitely use pepper on your fires instead, but do not cut salt out of your diet COMPLETELY.This can cause you to feel very nauseous, dizzy, and shaky.
pepper does not have salt in it. If it did, it would be called "salt and pepper", not just pepper. If you cut salt out completely you'll be fine- you get enough sodium incidentally through things you eat and drink.

Can I lose weight with Ephedrine?

Would anyone recomend this stuff? Does it really work?
Answer:
IndicationsEphedrine was once widely used as a topical decongestant and as a bronchodilator in the treatment for asthma. It continues to be used for these indications, although its popularity is waning due to the availability of more effective agents for these indications which exhibit fewer adverse effects. The role in nasal congestion has largely been replaced by more potent 伪-adrenergic receptor agonists (e.g. oxymetazoline). Similarly the role of ephedrine in asthma has been almost entirely replaced by 尾2-adrenergic receptor agonists (e.g. salbutamol). Ephedrine continues to be used intravenously in the reversal of hypotension from spinal/epidural anaesthesia. It is also used in other hypotensive states, including overdose with ganglionic blocking agents, antiadrenergic agents, or other medications that lower blood pressure. It can be used in narcolepsy and nocturnal enuresis. In traditional Chinese medicine, ephedrine has been used in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis for centuries. An ECA stack is a component found in thermogenic weight loss pills, composed of ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin (many supplement manufacturers include salicin instead of aspirin) working to speed up the metabolism and thus cause food energy to burn faster. The ECA stack is a popular supplement taken by body builders before workouts due to the increased amount of energy and alertness. For many years, the US Coast Guard recommended ephedrine together with an equal 25 mg dose of promethazine to its sailors to combat seasickness. Promethazine manages nausea and ephedrine fights the ensuing drowsiness. Commonly referred to as the Coast Guard cocktail, ephedrine may still be available for prescription for this purpose.[edit] Adverse effectsAdverse drug reactions (ADRs) are more common with systemic administration (e.g. injection or oral administration) compared to topical administration (e.g. nasal instillations). ADRs associated with ephedrine therapy include: * Cardiovascular: tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, angina pain, vasoconstriction with hypertension
* Dermatological: flushing, sweating, acne vulgaris
* Gastrointestinal: nausea, appetite loss
* Genitourinary: increased urine output due to increased blood flow (difficulty urinating is not uncommon, as alpha-agonists such as ephedrine constrict the internal urethral sphincter, mimicking the effects of sympathetic nervous system stimulation)
* Nervous system:restlessness, confusion, insomnia, mild euphoria, mania/hallucinations (rare except in previously existing psychiatric conditions), delusions, formication (may be possible, but lacks documented evidence) paranoia, hostility, panic, stereotypical behaviour ('obsessive compulsive' or repetitive tasks such as cleaning, grooming, organizing items arbitrarily) agitation
* Respiratory: dyspnea, pulmonary edema
* Miscellaneous: dizziness, headache, tremor, hyperglycemic reactionsThe approved maximum daily dosage of ephedrine for use as a bronchodilator is 150mg, as specified on the packaging of the bronchodilator and expectorant combination, Bronkaid, made by Bayer pharmaceuticals.Overdose can lead to death, although the approved dose is not likely to cause severe reactions when used as directed.Ephedrine can also lead to damage of the brain receptors over a period of high usage; this is because of its constant action on the neurochemicals. It also leads to high increase in blood pressure which over time can lead to damage in the blood vessels.
yeah it works and i would reccomend it if your RETARDED.never take this drug..one its illegal and 2 it causes heart complications and eats at your bones and muscle...never take it..if your taking a supplement for weight loss..check into prosource.net.try some lipo 6 or hydroxycut hardcore!!
Its very bad for your heart!

Can i lose weight from switching to diet soda?

Answer:
That and cutting calories in half..I lost over 200lbs
No, you shouldn't drink soda at all.
it is a scientific fact that aspartame is the number one cause of memory loss, Brain tumors and holes in the brain (not a joke) So NO TO DIET SODA!and aspartame is in almost EVERY sugar free food/Drink
Maybe, but you'd be better off if you stopped drinking soda entirely. Water isn't so bad... in fact, it sorta sustains life... : )May God bless you.
Yes. Sugared sodas are often the greatest single source of empty calories in Americans' lives. You can cut hundreds of calories a day out of your diet by avoiding them.
HAHAHA. I laugh at you misfortune.
Of course not. It is all a marketing campaign solely aimed to please the buyer into purchasing more vulgar items.
Yes you will lose 20 lbs and then level out to normal if you drink alot of sugary soda like 10 or more a day you could lose 50 lbs I did
Of course-the less calories you ingest, the better off you are. But, diet soda is not good for you. It can make you hungrier, therefore negating the whole calorie deal to begin with. You'd be better off drinking water than any type of soda.
Actually, you should limit soda altogether (even diet) since it still contains a lot of sugar and has virtually no health benefits. If you want to lose weight, eliminate your soda drinking and fatty foods. If you want some more tips for weight loss, visit http://www.realhomeremedies.com... and click on weight loss.
Depends on how may sodas you normally drink. Had a friend who would drink 3 or 4 a day. He lost 14 lbs by giving up soda. A can of soda has about 150 calories in it so he was drinking about 600 calories a day just from soda.
try water. Diet soda can stimulate your appetite more than natural sugar. Drinking soda should be reduced to one per day, and replaced with water. no calories in water either! You know? Don't' for get less calories in, and more calorie burned makes you lose weight.
u can but u have to eat healthy foods also and dont eat as many sweets and junk food as u use 2.
You might notice a slight difference to your weight but eventually you body will adjust and the weight loss will stop. Just switching to diet soda will not give you great or long term results. If you do not want to give up soda completely start by switching to diet and then start making sure you have a soda free day every week, then 2, then 3..Kind of like weening yourself of it. You will notice if you stop drinking soda that you feel less bloated and that mght make your tummy look a little trimmer.
no, soda is soda
and drinking not with sugar in it! Try splenda or sweet n low or something along these lines...
Yep! I know how it is to LOVE soda.. so if you must drink SODA instead of going cold turkey without it.. switch to diet.I lost 10 pounds just switching to Diet and don't drink soda with ASPARTAMEMake Sure its SPLENDA!!Try it for a week
NO U ******* FAT ****. U SHOULDNT BE EATING OR DRINKING ANYTHING BECAUSE U ARE A FATASS. LEARN HOW TO HATE YOURSELF ENOUGH TO NOT EAT OR DRINK. IF U WANT TO STOP BEING A WHALE LEARN SOME GODDAMN SELF CONTROL! **** WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS!
You probably would but you would get better results by not drinking soda at all. Drink water or tea.
Yes and No. On the yes side, if you drink diet soda each time replacing regular soda that can keep away 5-10 pounds in a year, since you're cutting back on sugar, carbs and calories. On the no side, it's not recommended to use diet soda as some sort of dietary supplement. To truly keep the weight off drink more water. Water is natural and has so many benefits: appetite suppressant, replenishes body cells to maintain it's basic functions, etc. You can buy the Vitamin Water, or Sobe Life Water if tired of the regular old water. Or even add a slice of lemon to your water to make it more enjoyable! :) Hope this helps!
Switching to diet soda can definatly help. You will cut out a lot of empty calories that way (not to mention all the sugar). That was the first change I made when I decided to be healthier, and i still think it was the most important change. Made losing weight much easier.

Can I lose weight from not drinking soda?

Answer:
yes you can! even just try it for a week, just drink water and in 7 days your body will feel so happy to be rid of the soda!
Yes. Provided that you eat well and do not substitute some other junk food for the soda. Here is a sample meal plan and a healthy foods list:
http://www.spartafit.com/nutrition/sampl...
http://www.spartafit.com/nutrition/prefe...
It depends on what else you eat. If you eat pretty healthy and just splurge with the pop, then go ahead and cut it. But if you eat a lot of other bad things, It prob. wont help that much. But dont forget to splurge every now and again. Pop tastes too good to never drink it again.
If you really want to get rid of pop, try lemonade.
yes, soda (even diet) will put weight on around your middle. Try water, with a lemon if you want. Unsweetened fruit juice in moderation. Above all, exercise.
only if you replace the soda with something healthy like water or gatorade. if you drink soda every day then you can add a couple pounds a year.
yes with other help also stay away from diet soda!!
Drink all you want, but only the stuff without sugar. Best way to lose weight is to make soup. Buy dry chicken noodle, not the cup of soup type, the package stuff , check label it has almost no calories and add a bag of frozen veggies and a can of chicken if you want. Make a big bowl and eat it all day with all the diet soda you want and you will lose weight.
Not necessarily, but it WILL be a healthier way to go if you cut down on the soda, and there is a very possible chance you will lose some weight. I realized that i was drinking waaaay too much soda because it was so convinient (caffine, fluid, and taste all in a can to go) But i havn't lost any weight from cutting down on my soda. :'( hope this helps!
