Can walking tone your legs? Tips for a smaller waist line?

I've been told running only tones your legs
Answer:
Yes, running will only tone your leg but it will definitely help you lose weight all over your body. If you want to tone your whole body then you have to weight train. And no, you won't be "big" like a body builder.Good luck and eat right.
yes walking can tone your legs and when I walk ,it helps to lose weight all over my body
Don't listen to people who say that.If you EXERCISE each night, you won't be upset.I ran for 12 minutes each night and lose 4 dress sizes in 3-5 months. If you stick with an exercise plan, you WILL see results!
You've been told wrong. That which is wrong is the word "only". Running is an excellent aerobic exercise that improves your whole body! So is swimming, and so is biking. Even a good brisk walk for half an hour a day, every day, will do that.
It will work your entire body! Especially if you do off road walking and jogging! Try hiking in the mountains a couple of times! It will work wonders on your thighs and other body parts! Ankle weights are also a good investment!
Yes, walking can tone your legs -- as long as it's not all downhill..!! You still have to exert yourself somewhat and make sure there's an uphill or stairs here %26 there if you're walking for exercise. Using your leg muscles (especially calf %26 above the knee) is important to leg tone.. and believe me, I'm an aficionado of shapely legs. Put them in heels, and it's the contours of leg muscles from your ankles to calves, that makes legs attractive no matter what kind of dress is worn. As far as the waist goes, any movement helps. But, it's more sit-ups and twists and bending exercises to address that area.. and a diet that doesn't add too much of a bad thing.
