Can anybody offer advice? i can't believe myself.?

iv basically been on a 3 day binge! i had been successful for 8 weeks on my diet and feeling fantastic and so proud of myself. now i just feel disgusted with myself, i cant believe what i have eaten and i know i wont have lost weight this week and will be so disappointed. i wish i could take it back. i dont know what to do to sort my diet or my head out!
Answer:
When anxiety, fear, loneliness, anger, guilt or any uncomfortable emotion becomes too difficult to control, food provides a powerful distraction.Food changes the chemical balance in the body. some foods increase endorphin levels, which in turn creates a sense of happiness or contentment. We associate being full with comfort. Fullness increases comfort, which counteracts negative emotions. And if a person eats past fullness to discomfort, the physical sensation distracts the mind from other problems. Eating also takes time, time that might otherwise be spent thinking negative thoughts.Of course, afterwards, we feel guilty and then go on a new diet or fast or get involved in a heavy exercise routine to try and fix the heavy load of calories consumed. But what most of us find out is that this is a continual cycle that will appear again in hours, days, weeks or maybe even months from now. Please take the time to go to your local library and get a book on eating disorders to help yourself with this problem.
Just get back on the wagon. Three days won't make or break you. I would take a closer look at your diet, though, because there is something that you're missing that would cause you to go on a 3-day binge! Maybe you need to loosen the reins a little to make the diet more balanced.
you cannot take it back as you must have already noticed, i often feel like this too but since you can't take it back you must burn it off or go on a diet, also it IS OK to have those nights when you eat a lot of calories but not all the time and you should be in shape if you DO do this. as said by izzie on grey's anatomy, "i beleive that if i eat a whole tub of butter at 12 o'clock in the morning and nobody sees me then the calories dont count"
You're not going to ruin all your hard work with a three-day binge. It's OK if you don't lose weight this week. Just go back on your diet and carry on. Consider it a pit stop on the road to success.
When you were doing well on your diet, did you have foods that you cut out completely? What I have found is that if I totally cut out certain foods and I don't allow myself to have some when I crave them, then eventually I just can't take it anymore and I'll eat as much of it as I can. If that is what you did, then I suggest that you allow yourself to eat foods that you enjoy, just in moderation. That way you won't go crazy and eat everything in 3 days. Good luck!
STOP BEATING YOUR SELF UP! We all fall off the wagon. ( Lord knows I do) Tomorrow is a new day, in stead of beating yourself up just say it was a reward for doing so good for 8 weeks. This is why diets don't work, we get sick of the "diet" stuff, just remember all in moderation. You have done a great job, stop being so hard on yourself.
every diet out there is prone to such a binge. don't feel bad about it just get yourself out of the habit of "dieting" instead replace it with the notion of healthy eating. allow yourself one day a week to mess up, this will keep you from craving and binging. healthy eating consists of watching your portion sizes (fist size for carbs, palm size for meats, but unlimited fruits, veggies and most important WATER! i recommend 2 liters a day...it will help keep you full if you drink several hundred mL before you eat. change your frequency of eating also. instead of 3 squares do something like this: 9am- breakfast, 11am snack, 1pm lunch, 3pm snack, 5pm dinner, 7pm snack. eating so frequently prevents your body from going into starvation mode (as it does every 3 hours you go without food). when your body is in starvation mode anything you eat will automatically be stored as fat. let me recommend this book to you: "Eating for Life" by Bill Philips which outlines what I've just told you much better.
Relax, you can undo your weight gain by sticking to your diet
Here's a few tips from the bodyclock diet to help you optimizing your body fat burning capacity.- You should eat a big breakfast, and end it with light lunch and dinner. Body clock diet insist that foods eaten in the morning will convert into energy and get burned easier than foods eaten at night.- Start your day with eating high protein breakfast.- Grains and cereals should be only done in the morning to complement our body clock schedule. While dinner should involves low carbs.- Get used to wake up at the same time everyday. That will let our body to adjust itself to control the production of melatonin hormone. The melatonin triggered the sleep, so by keeping the same gap between waking up and sleeping will ensure a constant peak of melatonin during the night. This will lead into a healthier life and better sleep.- Morning sun will heat the temperature in your body. So make sure your dining room gets a lot of sunlight. It warms up your body and set your internal clock in tune faster, your body temperature, energy and alertness will be optimized during the day.
