Can Water Do This?

I'm starting up on drinking tons of water everyday. Does this help you lose weight even with my same diet?I'm still very young, but i'm worried about my weight, because I keep gaining more and more weight over a short period of time. (No I am not getting any taller, and I'm not growing)
Answer:
you shouldn't drink more than 8 glasses of water a day. But yes, drinking lots of water rather than sodas and tea will be great for your health. I was told once that you should drink half your weight in ounces and you'll lose weight, but be careful because you can drink too much water and drown yourself.um to someone below, yes you can drink too much water. Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. When too much water enters the body's cells, the tissues swell with the excess fluid. Your cells maintain a specific concentration gradient, so excess water outside the cells (the serum) draws sodium from within the cells out into the serum in an attempt to re-establish the necessary concentration. As more water accumulates, the serum sodium concentration drops -- a condition known as hyponatremia. The other way cells try to regain the electrolyte balance is for water outside the cells to rush into the cells via osmosis. The movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from higher to lower concentration is called osmosis. Although electrolytes are more concentrated inside the cells than outside, the water outside the cells is 'more concentrated' or 'less dilute' since it contains fewer electrolytes. Both electrolytes and water move across the cell membrane in an effort to balance concentration. Theoretically, cells could swell to the point of bursting. From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water. Electrolyte imbalance and tissue swelling can cause an irregular heartbeat, allow fluid to enter the lungs, and may cause fluttering eyelids. Swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves, which can cause behaviors resembling alcohol intoxication. Swelling of brain tissues can cause seizures, coma and ultimately death unless water intake is restricted and a hypertonic saline (salt) solution is administered. If treatment is given before tissue swelling causes too much cellular damage, then a complete recovery can be expected within a few days.
it helped me i lost 10 hole pounds by drinking alot of water and walking alot and this was just in a week and a half
Drinking water is GREAT for you-as long as you dont overdo it. It hydrates your body to make it run the best it can and it also fills you up so instead of those cookies, you are taking in 0 calories. Just as long as you dont drink too much or you dont starve yourself on it. You need food energy to help you get around and without the food in your system, your metabolism will slow down.
water does help u lose weight and everybody encourages people to drink a lot of water because not only that it makes u lose weight but it make ur skin healthy and soft.
Of course water is good for you. And yes, it does help you loose weight because it flushes out all the waste in your body. If you're noticing dramatic changes in your weight then trying decreasing your calorie intake daily and see what happens. Go here: http://www.inch-aweigh.com/dcn.php... and see how many calories you need a day to stay at your weight. Then don't consume any more than that and you shouldn't gain anything.
i don't think water will do it alone, but it helps...maybe your metabolism is just slow so you better watch what you eat, avoid fastfoods and better if you exercise (this will boost your metabolism)...and eat in small amounts...don't eat like it's your last day in this world..LOL
water is great, it will flsuh out impurities and will make you ahve less of an appetite. soda and stuff is loaded with sugars/calories, and without that, you will see a big wieght loss.
You should drink 8 8oz glasses of water a day. Then add 8oz for every 25lbs that you need to lose. Water is GREAT for you. You should still think about eating healthy as well. GOOD LUCK!
drinking water is a very good way to lose weight, especially is you switch from pop to water. drinking 1 can less of soda a day for a week can help you lose about 5 pounds
yes it should help with loosing weight, because the more you drink the less you eat, and water is calorie free and sugar free, unlike soda and everything else.good luck but be careful and eat what you need for your healthyou can not drink to much water you will not drown yourself unless you fill up your lungs, not your stomach.
The theory is water will cause you to lose weight. Though there are problems with excessive water. You tend to over flush your body. causes issues if you do not have a nutrient rich diet.Losing weight is really easy.. its a balance of exercise and food. drop one and/or increase the other to get results.you can eat the same but exercise more to lose weight.
Or
eat less with the same activity.
Or
eat less and exercise moreAll these fad diets are just cheap ways to cheat actually putting effort into losing weight. Also the body learns what you do, and keeps improving its performance. So if you get in a routine, your body will eventually adjust to it and you will still gain weight.
If you eat exactly the same diet, no amount of water will cause you to lose weight. Water is only helpful in that it tends to fill you up, so you might eat less or drink other calorie-containing liquids less (resulting in fewer total calories consumed).Be aware that excessive water intake (medical term is polydipsia, resulting in water intoxication) can be fatally dangerous. In short, it can cause your brain to swell due to rapid changes in the sodium concentration.Trust me, I'm a doctor.
u can use detox diets to loose weight .People who follow it are seemingly more healthy and live longer lives.detox diets will help u to a great extent to reduce weight and be slim.for one week put yourself on a monotrophic diet , i.e. eat only one type of fruit at each meal. For example: BREAKFAST could be melon only.
